Vieras - Houseguest

Noitamuorilla kävi viime yönä vieras, tarkemmin sanoen hiirivieras, joka ei ollut kenties kaikkein halutuin vieras, kun ottaa huomioon kuinka huonosti hän on käyttäytynyt.

Tänä aamuna kun ohitin Seelan möksää huomasin sattumalta, että Seela makasi lattialla naamallaan ja hänen tyynynsä olivat ympäriinsä huonetta ja virkattu sänkypeitto oli vedetty pois sängyltä. Muistin hyvin selvästi, että kaikki oli ollut siistiä ja somaa edellisenä päivänä, koska laitoin silloin uuden kaapin mökkiin. Asun perheineni 160 vuotta vanhassa hirsitalossa ja olemme aika ajoin tottuneet vastaanottamaan pieniä vieraita, varsinkin talviaikaan. Mutta tämä pieni vieras ei todellakaan ole ollut kovin kiltti kun tarkastelee hänen käytöstään :)

No kävin tietysti tarkistamassa mitä muuta tuhoa vierailija on saanut aikaan ja pian huomasin, että kellarilabra oli myös sotkettu. Ehkä se on osittain omaa syytäni, että pieni vieras on ollut kiinnostunut Seelan labrasta. Olenhan säilönyt Seelan taika-aineiksi oikeita siemeniä ja mausteita sun muita mömmöjä. Siis labra oli sotkettu, lasipurkit hyllyiltä kaadettu alas, pullot pöydällä tönitty kumoon, mutta huolestuttavinta oli että Feenixiä ei näkynyt missään. Ensiksi ajattelin, että olen sen itse laittanut muualle, enkä vain muista sitä, mutta mitä enemmän asiaa mietin sen varmemmaksi tulin siitä, että Feenix oli seisonut omalla paikallaan takan vieressä. Joten minne se oli joutunut??

Kellari ei ole niin syvä kuin huone sen päällä ja sen takaseinän takana on avoin tila. Tämä avoin tila mahdollistaa takkaan enemmän syvyyttä ja aion käyttää sitä aikanaan myös sähköjen (muuntajan yms.) piilottamiseen. Siellä takana pienessä kulmauksessa lumiukon (lumiukon olen saanut lahjaksi ja se on ollut siellä turvassa) ja muiden kadonneiden tavaroiden, tyynyn ja virkatun liinan ja maustepurkin ja rapusaksimaljan kanssa oli Feenix. Voin vain arvailla miksi hiirulainen oli Feenixin ottanut, ehkä sen pehmeiden höyhenten takia?? Mutta olen melko varma, että pikku vierailijalla on ollut mielessään vähän pysyvämpi asumisjärjestely, koska tuo kulmaus näytti ihan keskeneräiseltä pesältä.

Tässä teille pari kuvaa ihmeteltäväksi, ylempi kuva on labran sotkusta ja alempi on ”takahuoneesta”. Hyvät naurut sain aamulla näistä pienistä yöllisistä tapahtumista :) Ja en voi olla miettimättä käyttikö vierailija etuovea ja rappusia kulkessaan ja miten ihmessä se on voinut raahata ne kaikki tavarat sinne pesään??? Toivon totisesti että olisin nähnyt nämä öiset tapahtumat :) Ja täytynee jotenkin sulkea talo väliaikaisesti, koska nyt heti miten minulla ei ole aikaa lähteä rakentamaa hiirenkestäviä ikkunoita ja ovia.

Frogwich Seela had a visitor last night, not a houseguest, it was a mouseguest, who wasn’t perhaps the most wanted guest, considering how indiscreet he or she had been ;)

This morning when I was passing Seela’s cottage I accidentaly saw that she was lying on the floor face down and her pillows were tossed all around the room and her crochet planked was pulled down from the bed. I remembered that everything had been nice and tidy because I had placed her new cabinet in her gottage just the day before. We, that is me and my family, live in an 160 years old loghouse so it’s not unfamiliar to us to have little houseguests occasionally especially in wintertime. But this little guest had definately not been very nice considering how badly he/she have been behaving :)

Well, I naturally checked what other damages this mouseguest had done and soon I realized that the cellar laboratory was messed up too. Perhaps it is partly my own fault that the little guest had taken an interest to Seelas lab, because I have used real seeds and spices ect. in Seelas glass jars to imitate magic materials. So lab was messed up, jars fallen from the shelfes and bottles on the table were knocked over, but the most alarming thing what I noticed was the missing Phoenix. First I thought that maybe I just don’t remember placing it to somewhere else, but the more I thought about it the more confident I was that Phoenix had been standing on the table near the fire place on her own place. So were could she had been taken?

The cellar is not so deep than the room on top of it, so there is an open space behind the back wall. That open space also allows the deeper fire place and I’m going to use it to place all the electricity (transformer etc) in there. Behind that wall in the little corner with the snowman (he was a gift from a friend and he has been safely stored in there, untill now that is) and other missing objects, a pillow and crochet flower cloth etc. was Phoenix. I can only guess why the mouseguest had taken her, maybe because of her soft feathers??  But I’m quite sure that the little guest had some thoughts of more permanent stay, cause the place looked very much like a nest in progress.

Here is couple of pictures for you to wonder, the top picture is from the lab and the one under it is from the space behind the lab’s back wall.  I got some good laughs in the mornig from these nocturnal events :)  And I cannot stop wondering did the little guest use the front door and the stairs, and how on earth she/he was able to haul all the stuff in to that nest???? I so wish I had been there to see it :)  And I have to make some preparations if she/he is going to visit Seela again. It might be good to somehow seal the house temporarily to prevent more damages, I have no time to make the windows and doors just now.

Sammakko -teemainen kaappi - Froggy themed cupboard

Tässä on kuva kaapista, jonka tekemisen aloitin jo viime syksynä eräällä minikerho tapaamisella. Laitoin sen syrjään pitkäksi aikaa (syynä laiskuus), mutta nyt se on vihdoin valmis. Eilen maalasin loppuun ovien sammakkokoristeet. Se on luonnollisesti tarkoitettu Seelalle ja se tulee hänen mökkinsä varsinaiseen asuinkerrokseen. Mittasin kaapin niin, että keksipurkit mahtuisivat siihen ja onhan siellä ylhäällä tilaa myös muille purkeille.

Se on tehty vanerista ja muotolistoista, jotka olen käsitellyt Folk Artin mahonkipetsillä. Maalaukset oviin tein vesiliukoisilla öljymaaleilla.

Here is a picture of a cupboard that I started already in last autumn in one of our mini club meetings. I set it aside for a long time (I was plain lazy), but now it’s ready atlast. Yesterday I finished the froggy paintings on the doors. It’s for frogwitch Seela's cottage, naturally. I mesured it so that her cookie jars fit in it and there’s room on the top of it for her other jars too.

I made it from plywood and mouldings which I tarnished with Folk Art Mahogny Stain and I used waterbased oil paints for the paintings.
